Coming Soon: New Poker Doc on Jason Koon in WSOP $100k, Aria $500k

Jason Koon
And you thought your job was stressful.

Would you like a behind-the-scenes look at an elite poker pro investing $600,000 in live tournament buy-ins, all during one week in Las Vegas?

This summer the PokerListings video crew will follow Jason Koon as he competes in the $100,000 WSOP One Drop and Aria $500,000 Super High Roller Bowl events.

Both tournaments play out in one of the busiest weeks of the poker year, the seven days leading up to the WSOP Main Event.

“$600,000 in buy-ins for a week is really just comical,” said Jason Koon. “Right now I'm not sure if it will be the most I've ever put into a tournament. A lot can happen between now and then.”

Last week Koon won the $50,000 High Roller at the LA Poker Classic, earning his 11th six-figure score and taking his total earnings to over $3 million.

To win the LAPC high roller event Koon defeated JC Tran, a former November Niner, two-time WSOP bracelet winner and two-time WPT champion.

Go Behind the Scenes in High-Stakes Tournament World

Super high roller events have exploded in popularity over the last few years. They've succeeded in attracting wealthy amateurs to the game and they present a big opportunity for successful pros like Jason Koon.

High rollers also work great for TV because of the big money and stacked line-ups.

Koon will compete against the best players in poker.

“I love the big tournies,” said Koon. “They're really special and they get viewers excited about poker. I think they're great for the game.”

This summer PokerListings will give viewers an enhanced look at what it's really like for a poker pro who makes his living, in part, playing the highest buy-in poker events around the world.

Koon will be staying at a Las Vegas mansion with a group of high-stakes pros during the biggest month on the live poker calendar.

The PokerListings short documentary will be released in the weeks following the WSOP Main Event but we'll be posting clips and updates from the production on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Vine.

Also make sure to check out our 2015 WSOP page for news and live coverage during the World Series of Poker.

For now watch the teaser we shot with Koon near Vancouver, British Columbia.
