Poker in the southern hemisphere doesn't get much better than that in Australia. Titan Poker is helping players see how their game stacks up Down Under by sending them to the Australian Poker Open coming up this fall.
Satellites are already running to get players into the game. The first supersatellite took place Saturday with $6,000 prize packages up for grabs.
The packages include:
- $3,000 buy-in for the Australian Open main event on Oct. 27
- Entry for a $550 event on Oct. 24
- Six-night hotel accomodations
- Tour to the Yarra Valley, including lunch at a winery and Healesville Sanctuary
- Cocktail party and dinner
- Freeroll in the Crown Poker room
- Melbourne Boat Cruise in the city, including lunch
- $1,500 for travel
The supersatellites cost $200+$15 to enter with the next ones taking place July 1, 8 and 15.
If that's a little too rich for your blood, there are several ways to win your way into the supersatellites for much less.
There are ongoing Stage 2 sit-and-go satellites for $5.50+50¢ that awards one seat for every six players into the Stage 1 satellite.
The Stage 1 satellites are also ongoing with a direct buy-in of $43+$4. One seat for every five players will be awarded to get into the weekly supersatellite.
If sit-and-gos aren't your specialty, there are two other ways to win your way into the supersatellites as well.
Daily Stage 2 Speed R/As run at 9:40 p.m. with a $3+30¢ buy-in, with a seat to a Stage 1 Spead R/A being awarded for every $16.50 collected. Stage 2 Speed R/As run daily at 4:15 p.m. The direct buy-in is $15+$1.50, and a seat in the supersatellite is awarded for every $215 collected.
The final option is the daily freezeout tournaments. The Stage 2 Freezeouts take place at 11:30 a.m. for a $5+50¢ buy-in and 3:20 p.m. for a $3+33¢ buy-in. Each awards one seat for every $33 collected for the Stage 1 Freezeout tournament.
Stage 1 Freezeouts take place twice a day - one at noon and the other at 9:10 p.m. Direct entry in them will cost $30+$3, and for every $215 collected, a seat to the supersatellite will be handed out.
The Australian Poker Open will take place Oct. 24-30 at the Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia.
