Chuck Norris reaches WSOPC final table
By Erik Sylven
The final table of the Atlantic City World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) main event has been set, and Chuck Norris will be one of the nine players fighting for the title.
It's not, however, the legendary karate expert we know from TV show Walker, Texas Ranger. This Chuck Norris is a 37-year-old general contractor and land developer from Fayetteville, N.C.
According to the official presentation of the final table contestants, Norris is also a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Persian Gulf War in the special forces.
Norris is undoubtedly a tough customer, but it will be difficult for him to win the $488,828 first prize since he will start the final day as the short-stack with only $87,000 in chips.
Among his opponents on the final table, Norris will find a 49-year-old retail store owner from Lansdale, Pa., a 28-year-old investment analyst from Manalapan, N.J., a 40-year-old jewelry store owner from New York City, and three professional poker players.
Seating and chip counts for the final table are as follows:
| Seat | Name | Chips |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Rick Austin | $704,000 |
| 2 | Grant Lang | $190,000 |
| 3 | Frank Vizza | $246,000 |
| 4 | David Fox | $637,000 |
| 5 | Chuck Norris | $87,000 |
| 6 | Eugene Fouksman | $513,000 |
| 7 | Matt Brady | $122,000 |
| 8 | Danny Yousefzadeh | $360,000 |
| 9 | John McMahon | $293,000 |
Final table action will start at 2 p.m. (EDT) at Caesars in Atlantic City.
