Chilean chalks up freeroll win
By Sarah Polson
With online poker, anyone from anywhere can join in a game and end up walking away with money. Ricardo Chauriye, from Concepcion, Chile, is proof of that as he qualified for a PokerListings.com and Full Tilt Poker freeroll and pocketed the $960 top prize.
Chauriye is fairly new to Full Tilt Poker. He signed up only about two weeks ago through PokerListings.com and already qualified to play in one of the weekly freerolls offered by the two sites.
However, he isn't a stranger to poker play. According to Chauriye, who plays at Full Tilt Poker as redskin134, he's been playing poker for three years, and playing professionally part time for the last year.
He first got interested in playing poker after seeing it played on television.
"We saw ESPN episodes from the WSOP with some friends and found it interesting," Chauriye said. "Then we started playing and liked it very much."
Now the pro puts in about five hours a day of poker play, and it paid off as he was one of 80 qualifiers for the weekly freeroll.
"It was a pretty good tournament - good blind structure and very good prizes for an 80-person freeroll," Chauriye said.
The tournament results are as follows:
| Place | Name | Prize |
| 1st | redskin134 | $960 |
| 2nd | yenpox78 | $585 |
| 3rd | Le Rocket | $420 |
| 4th | keithg88 | $330 |
| 5th | nickma71 | $240 |
| 6th | chickenmoondust | $180 |
| 7th | johandk | $120 |
| 8th | daddy50 | $90 |
| 9th | Blondie8104 | $75 |
| 10th | TheDoud | $0 |
Chauriye's biggest tournament win so far has been a third-place cash for $2,000. Normally he's a cash-game player, though, and he said his poker winnings in that realm are around $15,000.
As Chauriye shows, it pays to check out what PokerListings.com has to offer. He's usually on the site once a week to see the bonuses at the different sites and see the newest rooms and their reviews.
"It's a pretty good site," Chauriye said. "I really like the job they do ranking the sites for different areas like the best bonuses, higher player volumes, easy to win, etc."
Chauriye and PokerListings.com's other players at Full Tilt Poker aren't the only ones benefiting from bonuses and freerolls. At Pacific Poker, andrew76 benefited as well with an $8,500 prize package to the U.K. Poker Open.
The prize package includes the tournament entry fee plus money for travel and expenses.
The tournament results for the seat were as follows:
| Place | Name | Country |
| 1st | andrew76 | United Kingdom |
| 2nd | luna135 | Germany |
| 3rd | XrayEye | United Kingdom |
| 4th | Crantius | Italy |
