Chef wins EPT Baden

Thang Duc Nguyen, a chef from Hamburg, Germany, bested a field of 331 players to win the European Poker Tour (EPT) Baden, Austria event Tuesday.
Nguyen, 42, took home €487,397 for his win after finishing off a nine-player final table that included Rodion Cherednichenko, Daniel Dodet, Sasa Biorac, Peter Eichhardt, Jonas Molander, Dario Minieri, Andrea Balla, and Ben Johnson. Heads-up play came down to Nguyen and Johnson, a chess player from Brooklyn, N.Y.
Players from around the world came to compete in the €5,000 buy-in Texas Hold'em event that ended up with a €1,572,250 prize pool. Some of the professional players that took part are Noah Boeken, Mel Judah, Johan Storakers, and Andrew Black. Vicky Coren, who recently won the EPT London event, also participated as well as 61 players who won their seats through PokerStars.com
