CelebPoker Poker League crowns its first winner

By Sarah Polson

A player whose online name is El Bis was recently named the winner of the CelebPoker Poker League, earning the choice of $15,000 cash or a seat at the World Poker Tour Diamond Tournament at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.

El Bis, from Barcelona, Spain, plans to continue his poker career by playing live poker tournaments all across Europe. While he hasn't committed to which prize he will choose, he did say that he thought his chances would be good playing against some of the world's best at the WPT event.

"This year I played in the World Series of Poker. I played pros like Layne Flack and David Chiu and finished in the money, so I think I fared quite well," he said.

CelebPoker also awarded prizes ranging from deluxe poker chip sets to shirts and playing cards to the other players who made it into the top ten in the league.

League players can turn around and get right back at it again when the Poker League kicks off its second season starting in October. CelebPoker says the second season will be "bigger, better, and faster" than the first.
