FULL REVIEW - CelebPoker (7.47)

Due to U.S. legislation preventing credit card companies from collecting payments for wagers made by U.S. residents, CelebPoker has determined to suspend all real-money gaming business in the United States.

CelebPoker is one of the leading poker rooms on the International Poker network - formerly the Boss Poker Network - and runs on Boss Media's poker software. The site offers play with celebrities in weekly events and has a poker school featuring actor Lou Diamond Phillips. The action is quite loose and juicy, with lots of beginners on the network. For an advanced player this site offers good earning possibilities, as the opposition is sometimes quite soft even in the higher limits.

The software provided by CelebPoker is developed by Bossmedia and offers the standard functions familiar to players. The functionality is decent, with player notes, multi-currency play and deposits. The games played at CelebPoker are mainly low-limit Texas Hold'em. There are also plenty of lower buy-in tournaments and some freerolls with good value.

The traffic volume overall is in the lower segment of the industry. Real-money player statistics as of November 2008 show 3,300 ring-game players at peak hours and 13,000 tournament players at peak hours.

Overall CelebPoker offers loose games and decent software that plays well even though it is on the slow side when it comes to opening new tables. The software is updated frequently to ensure safety and stability, with little downtime as a result.
