Two years after he won it all, Carrolton, Texas' Allen Carter is in a dead heat for the lead heading into the final table of the 2011 World Poker Tour Southern Poker Championship in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Carter trails two-time 2010 WSOP finalist Alexander Kuzmin, who made 6th in a $1,500 No-limit Hold'em event and 9th in the $10k Pot-Limit Hold'em World Championship this summer, by just a few thousand chips heading into Friday's six-player final.

Both are cresting the two million mark in chips with none of the other four players remaining even over one million.

That group includes, two-time WSOP bracelet winner and four-time WSOP final tablist Ryan Hughes and 2010 WSOP $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha 8 sixth-place finisher Leif Force.

Plus Shannon Shorr, who finished in fifth place at the WPT Championship last season and has three WSOP final tables and a fourth place finish at the Aussie Millions on his resume, and short stack Pat Mahoney, who has but a couple of scores in the Southern U.S. on his.

Carter is trying to become the first player to win the same WPT event twice.

The WPT Southern Poker Championship drew 214 players creating a $1,986,100 prize pool with $601,469 reserved for first.

The final table will play out at 4 p.m. CT Thursday.

Here's how the players stack up:

1 Alexander Kuzmin 1,969,000

2 Allen Carter 1,928,000

3 Ryan Hughes 840,000

4 Leif Force 674,000

5 Shannon Shorr 663,000

6 Pat Mahoney 394,000
