Carodenuto Continues Scorching MSPT Streak, Wins 3rd Main Event

Carl Carodenuto

Minnesota native Carl Carodenuto has made the Mid-Stakes Poker Tour his personal piggy bank over the last year and is showing no signs of slowing down.

Earlier this week Carodenuto topped a 400-entry MSPT Main Event at Golden Gates Casino in Colorado to take home $114k.

Incredibly it was Carodenuto’s second MSPT final table in seven days as he finished sixth at the Iowa stop on Nov. 4 for $15k.

Third MSPT Win in 11 Months

Carodenuto has been on fire on the MSPT and the victory at Golden Gates Casino was actually his third Main Event win on the tour in the last 11 months.

Last December he outlasted 470 entries to win the MSPT Canterbury Park Card Club event for $116k.

Carodenuto followed that up by yet another Main Event at Caterbury Park for $90k in April.

The extraordinary amount of success has given Carodenuto the lead in the MSPT Player of the Year Race with 3,800 points, although close friend Richard Alsup is hot on his heels with 3,600 points.

Interestingly Carodenuto is very close to the all-time top MSPT Career Earnings leader with $336,047.

He trails only Thomas Boivin who currently leads with $352,153.

There are only two festivals left on the seventh season of the MSPT

The first is a stop at Potawatomi Casino in Milwaukee, which is currently ongoing, and a final stop at the Canterbury Park Casino starting Dec. 2.

One has to assume Carodenuto will be on hand for the final MSPT event of the year to defend his title and potentially lock up POY for 2016.
