Canada Retains Americas Cup of Poker
Team Canada helped itself to a second straight PokerStars Americas Cup of Poker in Punta del Este yesterday.
The Canadian team, which was captained by PokerStars Pro Greg DeBora, smashed Mexico in the finals 5-0 to earn its second straight title and $25,000 in cash.
"This (ACP) is a really fun event because you're part of a team and you're representing your country," said DeBora. "Everybody played hard and did well. Once again, Team Canada came through!"
The Americas Cup of Poker is an annual event that takes place in Uruguay with $100k up for grabs.
Players qualify to compete for their home country online and then the best seven countries head to LAPT Punta del Este for the live No-Limit Hold'em final complete with a Team PokerStars Pro captain for every squad.
