Boss Media technology allows poker room browser log-in
By Erin Warner
Testing out a new poker room won't require downloading extra software this spring, when Boss Media releases a new web-based development that allows players to log-in directly to network sites.
The company created the technology using Macromedia Flash, which lets players skip the downloading process to compete at partner-based network sites such as William Hill Poker and Paradise Poker.
The new product will accompany the existing software and help to attract more casual players to the poker rooms, said Boss Media spokesman Eric Matsgård in a release.
"These could be players who have yet to try playing poker on the Internet or players who want a simple way of participating in a couple of quick poker rounds during their lunch break," he said. "They could also be players who quite simply do not have the capacity to download a full poker client for installation."
The company's research shows that offering access to poker rooms through a browser log-in is attractive to new players who demand quick and easy admission into sites compared to traditional users, said the release.
