Borgata poker tourney draws WSOP stragglers

Paul McCaffrey placed second at the Borgata Summer Open.
By Erin Warner
The priciest poker tournament Atlantic City has ever seen played down to one man yesterday: New Jersey native Balint Bartal who is half a million dollars richer for having won the Borgata Summer Open.
Bartal outplayed his competition to take the heftiest chunk of the $1.7 million prize pool, swollen by the $5,000 buy-ins from 337 players.
Entrants to the tournament came from across the eastern states, with some players even breaking from playing hooky from the World Series of Poker to fly in from Las Vegas.
Even so, it wasn't the familiar names - pros such as online player Matthew Stout, Main Event runner-up Steve Dannenman or bracelet-winner Mike Sica among them - that showed up at the final table.
Tournament results are as follows:
| Name | State | Winnings |
| 1. Balint Barta | Clifton, N.J. | $513,925 |
| 2. Paul McCaffrey | Boston, Mass. | $283,080 |
| 3. Hoa Minh Nguyen | Fairfax, Va. | $137,327 |
| 4. Thomas Arrigoi | Killingworth, Conn. | $117,950 |
| 5. Kian Kiarash | New York, N.Y. | $101,100 |
| 6. Michael Naidrich | West Windsor, N.J. | $84,250 |
| 7. Dajuan Rayshawn Whorley | Accokeek, Md. | $67,400 |
| 8. Ronald McDonald | Fort Valley, Va. | $50,550 |
| 9. Albert Faivush | Jericho, N.Y. | $21,905 |
This year's Borgata Summer Open poker tournament ran June 13-26 and included 10 No-Limit Hold'em events, a Seven-Card Stud tournament and a super satellite.
