Bodog.com recently announced that it had created a promotional partnership with Sierra Entertainment to promote "Scarface: The World Is Yours," a video game based on the "Scarface" movie.
"Bodog.com is proud to be on the frontline of the emerging convergence of video games and mainstream entertainment by supporting 'Scarface: The World Is Yours,'" says Calvin Ayre, founder and CEO of Bodog.com, who will appear as a non-playable character in the game. "For so many, 'Scarface' is the quintessential underground anti-hero. We are pleased to be part of this groundbreaking video game."
The partnership includes several cross-branding efforts. Bodog.com will be spotlighted in various parts of the game including branded video poker, blackjack, and slot machines in the game where players can win in-game points, billboards featuring Bodog.com and the Bodog Music Battle of the Bands competition, and the Bodog.com brand will appear on the "Stampede" all-terrain vehicle in the game.
The video game will also include songs by Bodog.com music artists Bif Naked, Neurosonic, and Britt Black.
In return, Bodog.com will conduct online promotions and contests to promote the game. On the Bodogmusic.com Web site, selected winners will receive free copies of the game and a grand-prize winner will get a trip for two to "Live Like Tony Montana" in Costa Rica at the Bodog.com compound.
