announces TV star to host Card Player's Player of the Year Awards has announced it has secured Brad Garrett, star of "Everybody Loves Raymond," to be the Master of Ceremonies (MC) at Card Player Magazine's Player of the Year Awards this winter. The television star, who is known for his outrageously deep voice, agreed to MC the Awards Show Gala on February 15 at the Music Box Theatre in downtown Hollywood because of his love of poker. Garrett competed in the World Series of Poker $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event last year, among other tournaments. is producing and sponsoring the gala, and is anticipating the attendance of the poker world's top rounders and luminaries along with numerous celebrity poker players and fans. The show is scheduled to take place immediately prior to the World Poker Tour's L.A. Poker Classic event at the Commerce Casino in Commerce, CA on February 16.

"We are thrilled to have a household name like Brad Garrett MC the Card Player Player of the Year Awards, one of the hottest events in poker," says the event's host, Founder and CEO Calvin Ayre. "With Brad and the other top poker names and celebrities expected to attend, this event will be an exciting addition to the Hollywood awards season."

So far, only sponsored players Josh Arieh and David Williams have confirmed their attendance at the event, with the poker room promising to announce further big name attendees and presenters in the coming weeks.
