Bodog guarantees WSOP qualifiers adrenaline rush
Today is the last chance for players to earn a 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event seat at Bodog Poker. If a shot at possibly winning millions of dollars in the Main Event isn't enough incentive for poker fans to try to win a seat, perhaps all the extra perks Bodog is loading on will be.
Bodog Poker is offering its WSOP qualifiers three extra experiences while they're in Las Vegas for the Main Event that the poker site says will be guaranteed to get their hearts pounding and palms sweating before they start play.
The members of Team Bodog playing in the WSOP Main Event will get to choose one of three VIP Days to take part in, including driving a Corvette at a race track, firing guns at the Las Vegas Gun and Paintball Range or taking a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon.
VIP Day 1
The first option Bodog Poker team members have is to celebrate Independence Day at the Racetrack Club House of Spring Mountain Motorsports.
They'll spend their day July 4 suiting up to get behind the wheel of a high-powered Corvette to take turns on the racetrack.
Then the players will sit alongside a professional driver in a 505 horsepower ZO-6 Corvette to take three laps around a 2.2 mile road-racing circuit. Deluxe go-karts are on the schedule after that, giving the players a chance to test out high-performance go-karts capable of speeds up to 80 mph on a 1.2-mile road racing circuit.
After a day of racing, the poker players will get a chance to relax with a light lunch in the Members Clubhouse where they'll also have access to poker tables, pool tables and a pool.
VIP Day 2
On July 5, the Bodog team members can let it all out at the Las Vegas Gun and Paintball Range. The day will be all about guns, guns and more guns as the WSOP qualifiers get to test out a wide range of firepower.
Each qualifier will get to shoot four different machine guns with one magazine each, five rounds with a 12-gauge shotgun and 15 rounds with a 9mm handgun. They'll also shoot up a Las Vegas Gun Range shirt that they'll take home with them as a memento.
The qualifiers will also compete against each other in a Dirty Harry-style shooting competition with two rounds from a Desert Eagle. The winner will receive a Vegas Gun Range hat.
To cap off the gun experience, the Bodog players will then be let loose in the indoor paintball range to take on each other in a paintball war.
VIP Day 3
On July 6, players who choose the Grand Canyon VIP Helicopter Tour will be whisked away to fly over the Mohave Desert, Lake Mead, the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon.
The helicopter will land on the floor of the Grand Canyon for half an hour, giving participants a break for a light snack and drink, before winging its way back to Las Vegas. On the return trip, they'll be treated to an aerial view of the Las Vegas Strip as well.
Each of the VIP Days also includes experiencing Las Vegas in true Bodog Poker style, including having your own personal handler, access to private parties and events and hanging out with the Bodog Girls.
At least six $12,000 WSOP Main Event prize packages have been guaranteed each week at Bodog Poker, and the last chance to pick one up from the poker site takes place today.
