We were wandering past the survivors of the $2,500 NLHE tournament when we happened upon The Fro lining up for a race of his own holding A-K of diamonds against a rival with Q-Q for all but a couple antes.
The flop came Q-10-2 with two diamonds.
"Wow," said the table. Player 2 had flopped a set and despite picking up two draws, Jacob was 66% to lose the hand.
Then the J♣ binked on the turn.
"Wow," said the table. Jacob made the Broadway Straight and was 80% to win the hand.
And then the 2♥ dropped on the river, pairing the board and giving Player 2 the full house.
"WOW!" said the table. Jacob was crippled and a few minutes later, eliminated.
We're down to 46 players in the $2.5k, with Phil Ivey sitting fourth in chips as he hunts for his second bracelet of the summer.
Roland De Wolfe, Svetlana Gromenkova and Scott "SCTrojans" Freeman are also still alive.
They'll play down to the final table (or 3 a.m.) tonight.
