Among the donkeys was PokerStars.de Shooting Star Benjamin Kang, sitting down in a $2/$5 PLO game with a group of people who were likely unaware that the kid has $400k in career tournament earnings and regularly plays in high stakes side games on the European Poker Tour.
We happened by Kang at the end of his session, with the big Berliner all-in preflop for a mass of chips and bills worth about $250. His young opponent happily flipped up A-A-8-3 double-suited while Kang kept his cards artfully concealed as the board ran its brickly course.
He held up A-J-x-x for ace-high and scrutinized his hand while the rest of the table looked on.
"You'd better not have it," his opponent muttered.
"Don't worry, lady," Kang replied. "I'm not slow-rolling you."
He mucked his hand and walked away, shipping the $500 pot and disappearing into the night.
