In case you haven't heard, Phil Hellmuth entered the Rio dressed as Caesar today with about 100 supporting characters in Roman garb.
It was a spectacle on many levels and definitely the biggest Hellmuth entrance of all time.
Love him or hate him, Hellmuth certainly has showmanship.
Here's some pictures in case you don't believe us:

2009-07-06There are treatments for childish ego maniacs like him.
He goes a long ways towards ruining the reputation of poker for everyone. He puts it in the same category as wrestling.
He should be ignored by all just as one does with any 2 year old acting up.

2009-07-06For those that are super serious about poker, they'll hate what Phil did. For those that just like to play poker for fun, (and we want more of them) Phil was funny as hell. For UB, it was great publicity and I'm sure will drive hundreds and hundreds of new players to UB. Just the point of the entire thing.

2009-07-06What a jerk! He needs to grow up & what's that word he calls everyone? Well, he should look in the mirror for that's just what he is!
He needs to take lessons on how to be a proffesion player, like Daniel, Doyle, Mike & many others.
Cry babies don't belong in poker. We want to see good fun prof. games, without rude people like Phil Hellmuth!

2009-07-06His whole entrance reminded me of that obnoxious MTV Sweet 16 show that glorifies spoiled teens and their ridiculous party antics and demands. I can just imagine Phil whining to his party planner over exactly how many juiced up, half naked men will be carrying him to the curb.
Hopefully all the hullabaloo was worth it, I mean, can't think of a better way to come out. . . wait, that's what it was for right?
Happy poker playing, Phil.

2009-07-06I thought he was married. I'm sure his wife was both not impessed and curious as to why her (shall we say plump) husband enjoys being carried around by a group of half naked men.
He's like a child trying hard to find his own sexualility.
Sickening childish behavior. It turns me off the very thought of joiing Ultimate Poker.

2009-07-08Amazing! Phil just did what he does best - attracts attention of the media. One night he drinks and posts everything in Twitter, another day comes dressed like a Ceasar :) Pity that he did not behave as a emperor at poker tables and won nothing important. Anyway, poker is about show. Tony G, Mike Matusow and our beloved Phil Hellmuth know that very well and use it to entertain people.

2009-07-10Guys lets face it Phil has bragging rights because he is the only player to have eleven bracelets and though he may act childish; the world series main event is a circus and always has been even before Phil. It may have gotten worse but people find this entertaining because the question is, 'Who is Phil going to be next year'. Also don't forget that if all you could do was play hold em would you not get upset if you didn't get a big enough paycheck to pay the bills or party or even, though some people wouldn't do this, take your wife out on the town. So before you put Phil down put yourself in his shoes.
