Cernuto Conscious After WSOP Collapse
Created By: Ed Sevillano Posted in: WSOP Blog, Tournament Trail
Earlier today there were some tense moments in the $2,500 Razz event when tournament veteran "Miami" John Cernuto was in the middle of dragging a pot and appeared to fall asleep before collapsing to the felt.
According to Pokerati.com, tournament officials stopped the clock and cleared the area while paramedics were summoned to attend to him.
Cernuto was laid onto a stretcher and taken out of the tournament area. He was conscious and even waved to the crowd as he was wheeled out.
Communications Director for the WSOP, Seth Palansky, said that Cernuto is a diabetic and it seems that was the reason for the collapse.
Our thoughts go out to "Miami" John Cernuto and his family.
