Affectionately (or otherwise) termed "donkaments" by their victims, the $1,500 NLHE events have proven among the most popular of the World Series' bracelet events in the Jeffrey Pollack era, regularly attracting fields in the thousands thanks to their relatively low buy-ins, mostly Saturday scheduling and the popularity of Hold'em among the unwashed masses.
After 2007 rolled out six of the entry-level bracelet bonanzas, 2008 will see fully seven $1,500 NLHE events played out before the Series shuts down again in early November - er, mid-July.
As of this writing, no plans are as yet in the works to have those seven winners fight to the death on top of Binion's Horseshoe for ownership of a interviews and more from the madhouse that is Day 1a of the first donkament of the season.
