On the final table front, those lucky enough to reach Day 3 of Events 13 and 14, Freddy Deeb (6th place, $73,813), Andy Black (5th, $118,101) and Lamar Wilkinson (4th, $162,389) making bank before Shawn Sheikhan, Erik Seidel and Chad Brown settled down for an epic three-handed battle.
Sheikhan entered three-handed play as the chipleader and Seidel the short stack, but after more than an hour of intense Lowballin' action it was The Sheik who would hit the road first, earning $206,676 for his finish. Brown, Sheikhan's eliminator, entered heads-up play with a 2:1 chip lead and managed to increase that lead exponentially before Seidel clawed his was back, doubling-up repeatedly to take the chip lead and then ending the marathon by making an 8-7 low against Brown's 9-7 low to seal the deal.
The victory gave Seidel his eighth WSOP bracelet and $538,835, as well as the title of Most Lowballingest Player, while runner-up Brown earned $324,777 for his finish and earned the title of Second Most Lowballingest Player.
