Friday noon saw Joe Beevers, Victor Ramdin, Liz Lieu and Terrance Chan eliminated. It also saw Dustin "Neverwin" Woolf pick up the wrong kind of railbird, as WPT Season 5 Borgata Poker Open champ Mark Newhouse more or less stalked the current Mr. Jennicide from the rail.
Newhizzle is reportedly owed hundreds of thousands of dollars from Woolf and other, more unsavory characters (read: Brandi Hawbaker) and has made it his vow to collect during the Main Event. It's unclear whether he got any money from Neverwin, but he surely spooked his quarry; with every passerby Woolf seemed to get more and more nervous, eventually calling the floor to have Newhouse escorted away from his table.
By four in the morning, the day was done, with organizers choosing to play six two-hour levels over each of the event's preliminary days. Atop the chip leaderboard is Tinten Olivier with $260,000, while Snowy, Captain Haddock, and Professor Calculus remain well within the hunt for their first WSOP bracelets.
Also in contention are Joe Beevers, Barry Greenstein, Raymond Davis, Brad Garrett, Jeff Madsen, Johnny Lodden, Huck Seed, Tobey Maguire and Irv Gotti. Will tomorrow see the rumored appearances by Nelly and Wayne Gretzky? Will we see a larger field than Day 1A's underwhelming 1,200? Stay tuned to PokerListings.com for the answers, the elegance, and the humor. Game on!
