WSOP Legend Hellmuth Pwned Spectacularly
Created By: Rod Stirzaker Posted in: WSOP Blog, Tournament Trail
We all know about Hellmuth's eye-catching blow-ups and we all love to see him exploding into full baby "Poker Brat" mode. Well, on PokerStars big game, Hellmuth somehow managed to pretty much keep his cool for once despite playing what really was a very, very sick hand.
Much of the humor from this hand is actually derived from the reaction of the other players in the game but not in the hand. Daniel Negreanu and Tony G in particular seem to be having a whale of a time.
Check it out, it's an epic hand and we know you'll love it. You never know - you might even feel sorry for the Poker Brat...

2010-06-19The Big Game is the best poker Show on TV. It's Fun to Watch, the "Loose Canon" adds a lot to these games of all Pro's. Who wants to watch a show full of TV Pro's trying to out bluff each other. Daniel wanted Wiggins money and gave him little room to "Make a Move" Hellmuth showed a lot of class here. He didn't have to make the offer, but he didn't want to bust the out. It didn't turn out the way Hellmuth wanted, it hurt, but he just pouted, Until Tony G ( The Real Loose Canon ) starts in on Hellmuth that Phil gets mad. Even Daniel's comments didn't bother phil, it was Tony G that Tilted Phil.

2010-06-18Lol I've seen Tony G re-raise with 96 offsuit so compared to Phil's play it wasn't that bad. Tony G is an a-hole, I hope someone punches him in the face one day. Also Phil has been the most unluckiest person I've seen live in the past 3 years, hang in there Phil don't let those bad beats and other players get you off your game.

2010-06-18Phil Hellmuth made the error of asking if he wanted to run it 2 , 3 , or 4 times. Just because the other player was (the loose canon) phil made the offer in hopes that the canon would win once and still be in the game. This generosity backfired and phil lost 3 to 1 on the runs. Later in the segment, Daiel Neagranu takes the canons money when he tells him he has the nuts but he doesent. So yaa to phil and na to neagranu.

2010-06-18I don't think it's a slowroll. The talk is to make sure all the money gets in (which imho is a legit strategy). Once it is in, he declares his hand almost immediatly.
The speech might be dirty or 'unethical' in hindsight to some (not to me though), but it's not a slowroll imo.
Honestly, I don't see what all this whining about slowrolling is about. And I don't believe in anybody 'deserving' to lose a pot, although at times it might feel like that to some.
(And no, I am not a big Hellmuth fan. I just don't think he deserves all the crap that is thrown at him).
Cut the guy some slack, ffs.
