Matt Graham, Freddy Deeb, Tom Dwan Fight for Chip Lead on Day 3 of the World Poker Finals
Created By: Arthur Crowson Posted in: The Poker Reporter Blog, Tournament Trail
Matt Graham, known as mattg1983 online, continued to absolutely crush the competition on Day 3 of the World Poker Finals in Connecticut. Despite the best efforts of Freddy Deeb and Tom "durrr" Dwan, Graham finished the day with an astounding $1.2 million in chips.
Here's a look at some of the big hands and stories to come out of Day 3 at Foxwoods Casino.
Tom Dwan, or durrr as he's known online, finally faced some stiff competition on his third day. For awhile it appeared he had met his match in fellow online card shark David Benyamine.
In one big hand early on Dwan raised pre-flop and Benyamine flat-called from the big blind. The flop went J-J-x and Benyamine bet out. Durr made the call and the turn was a five. Both players checked and the river was a king, prompting another substantial bet from Benyamine and a call from Dwan.

Mr. Erica Schoenberg showed pocket kings for the rivered full house and Durr mucked his hand, giving Benyamine the pot.
Sadly the lovely Isabelle Mercier was eliminated early when her all-in push with pocket sevens was called by a player with pocket nines. Seven was apparently not Mercier's lucky number.
Some other notable players who busted out today were Erik Seidel, David Benyamine, J.C. Alverado, David Daneshgar and Melissa Hayden.
Darrell Dicken was also eliminated early all when he made a questionable play with Q♥ 9♥.

Andreas Walnum was on the button and raised to $12,500 pre-flop and Darrell "Gigabet" Dicken re-raised, in late position, to $36,000. Walnum shoved for over $100,000 and Dicken made the call tabling #Q-#9 while Walnum showed the dreaded pocket rockets.
The flop went #T-#6-#3 and then the dealer turned #T which at least made things interesting, giving Dicken a flush draw, but the river went #K and Dicken was finished.
Freddy Deeb had a fantastic day and was full of life, taunting his table most of the day. He bluffed Frankie Flowers out of a large pot and even told one opponent that the next hand he played against Deeb would be his downfall.

It was touch-and-go for Justin Bonomo most of the day but he survived an all-in push when he shoved with A♦ 5♦ and was called by an opponent with pocket sevens. The board went A♠ Q♠ 6♣ A♣ 8♣ and Bonomo doubled-up. Unfortunately it didn't last. ZeeJustin was the last player to bust on Day 3 when his 9♥ 8♦ ended up falling to A♥ J♠.
Another well-known online player, Thayer Rasmussen, was eliminated when he pushed with A♦ Q♥ on a board of J♣ T♥ 3♠. Unfortunately for Rasmussen his opponent called with A♠ J♦ and the board bricked out. Back to the Internet for you!
The best table of the day had to be the one with Hevad Khan, Nick Schulman, Tom Dwan and Victor Ramdin all sitting right next to each other with huge stacks. The other five players at the table looked rather terrified. Ramdin got the worst of it and became extremely short-stacked. His straits went from bad to worse when he shoved with A-3 and got called by a player with pocket sevens. Ramdin couldn't hit a card on the flop and was thus eliminated.

In the end there are 51 players, one away from the money, which survived through Day 3. There are plenty of big-name players like Freddy Deeb, T.J. Cloutier, and "Miami" John Cernuto, joined by online sensations like Matt "1983" Graham and Tom "durrr" Dwan.
Who will come out on top? Well there's only one way to find out so get that refresh button ready because PokerListings.com is going to be bringing our A-game to the World Poker Finals in Foxwoods tomorrow. Check it out!
