For starters, we now know how much money the 2007 champion will win, as the payout structure was announced early on Day 2. With a grand total of 937 entrants paying the $8,000 buy-in (making the PCA the largest ever Michael Binger, and World Poker Finals champ Nenad Medic.
At the top of the leaderboard is Justin Bonomo, the infamous "ZeeJustin", who after tearing up the online poker world and landing himself in some hot water in the process, turned 21 in September and has since been applying his skills to live tournaments. He tore up the WPT's Five Diamonds World Poker Classic in December, cashing in four out of eight tournaments for a tidy $264,895 payday.
After starting the day with a paltry $22,600, Bonomo has himself a healthy lead on Ambrose at the top of the PCA leaderboard, going into Day 3 with $475,000 to his name. He'll definitely be the one to watch as the tournament goes forward, as, if the past two tournaments are any indication, another young superstar is coming into his own.
Day 3 begins tomorrow at noon from the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. They'll play down to 18 places tomorrow, meaning we'll probably not end coverage at the luxurious hour of nine p.m. but rather play all night as the dead money gives way to the battle-hardened pros. However long it takes, PokerListings.com will be there providing the livest of coverage and the most up to date results. See you tomorrow!
