A lot of people have been asking me what I will take away from covering this prestigious event. I think the simplest answer to that question is a renewed interest in poker. Being at the core of the industry and seeing the biggest faces in the game on a regular basis will do that to a person.
Joseph Hachem were all transformed by the Main Event. They now travel the globe, are seen regularly on TV and serve as an inspiration to thousands of poker players across the planet.
As I write this the remaining nine players are getting set up at the final table, and they won't leave until there is a winner. You couldn't ask for a better final table (well maybe one that included Phil Hellmuth Jr. and Mike Matusow), but as it stands now, there are eight very diverse relatively unknowns and one big-name professional. The players range in age from 22 to 55. They are accountants, bartenders, fathers, and more. The final table embodies the best thing about poker - anybody can play.
Anybody can play and anybody can watch the WSOP. I suggest you do so as soon as possible.
