From now on you'll have a choice: read through our comprehensive and articulate content for the full stories, or sit back and relax as we beam you the highlights in easy-to-swallow video chunks.
We've kicked off PokerListings TV with four core channels. Imagine it like TV used to be back when your parents were kids, or if you're that old and you can actually remember, when you were a kid.
For the last three years we've restricted our video production to the World Series of Poker. All that's about to change.
All our existing coverage has been integrated into the new TV section and will be joined by a host of new features.
Check out PokerListings Strategy for upcoming online instruction from our very own Dan Skolovy. His videos will be geared toward the beginner and intermediate player and will help you build a rock-solid foundation on which to develop your game.
Not to take anything away from other training sites, but you don't need players who win and lose millions of dollars to show you how to beat the micro- and low-stakes games on the Internet. D-Sko has proven himself more than a match for what the online arena has to offer and he's willing to share his knowledge with you for free. If you're new to the game or need to brush up on the fundamentals I suggest you take him up on it.
Tune in to the Tournament Coverage channel to check out recaps from the WSOP and join us for the rest of the year as the PL.com video crew hits the biggest tournaments around the globe. The Aussie Millions, PokerStars Caribbean Adventure and the WPT Five Diamond main event are just some of the events we'll be at in the next few months.
The Player Interview channel is just what it sounds like, but if you're used to the regular poker player interviews you see on other sites you'll be pleasantly surprised by ours. You won't find 30-second clips of frustrated players who just busted here. We've had the biggest pros in the business come to our studio, and they've been generous enough to spend considerable time plumbing the depths of their poker knowledge.
Our editing gurus have gone to town on these to glean only the tastiest and most nutritional nuggets from the miles of tape. Click through and get to know Daniel Negreanu, Barry Greenstein and Greg Raymer, to name just three.
Surf on over to our Special Features channel to get an inside look at private parties in Vegas and our very own Poker Pads series. This may look a lot like MTV Cribs but I assure you, we came up with it first.*
*We didn't actually come up with this first but we do suspect that the MTV execs got their hands on some sort of time machine and used it steal our Poker Pads idea.
You'll also be able to find our ongoing series Nine Lives: Road to the 2008 Final Table under Special Features. For the last few months we've been traveling the globe, tracking down the members of the November Nine and learning their stories.
It hasn't been easy since these players rarely stay in one place for long. Head over to the Special Features where you'll find those as they're posted.
Starting in December we'll be airing a weekly poker entertainment show. This project is still classified Top Secret so I can't go into too much detail. However, I've been personally screening girls for the role of host and suffice it to say, you won't be disappointed!
So that's PLTV in a nutshell. I suggest you check it out for yourself and see what we've got to offer. Unlike traditional TV you don't have to wait for your favorite shows to start and you don't have to miss them if you're not at home. Welcome to the future. Welcome to PokerListings TV.
