Matt Stout is back with another edition of the Sunday Report. Each week Stout reports on the profits and losses he sustains during his Sunday online poker MTT schedule.
Get an honest look at what it's like to spend more than $10,000 every Sunday on online poker tournament buy-ins. So far it's working out for Stout. He's made almost $190,000 in profits since starting the Sunday Report in February.
Well, I didn't want to disappoint my readers, so I made sure I busted the WPT Legends of Poker event on Day 1 so I could play online on Sunday and get this Sunday Report in. =)
Obviously I'm full of it, and just had a gross run of cards and situations. Come to think of it, that's the only way I EVER bust on day one of big WPT events. lol
Fortunately, I was able to make up for it on Sunday. I had a pretty rough session and was left with just two tables, no big stacks, zero cashes, and was looking at being stuck over $9k for the day. But, naturally, I wouldn't let myself lose focus for one minute! ;-)
I managed to make a deep run in the late Stars $109+rebuys. I managed to grind it out as the short stack with a few tables left, and went on a huge heater with two tables left. I went into the final table third in chips but lost a huge flip at the final table for a big chip lead. I went card dead for a bit and was forced to wait it out while the big stacks busted the short stacks.
I was never able to find another double up, and busted 4th for $15,623.40. I was plenty happy with my play though, and even more happy to get unstuck for the days with one of my last shots!
