As you'd expect, PokerListings.com's exclusive freeroll qualifiers are moving into high gear, with a private freeroll - and a five-figure prize package winner - virtually every other week from now until the Main Event starts.
Congratulations also go out to the PokerListings players who have earned their way to a Main Event seat already, thanks to freeroll victories in February and March.
Among them: the first two winners in the PokerListings/Full Tilt $180k freeroll series - "JudasBlue," a 42-year-old journalist from Northern California, and Kory "QQ_More_Plz" Schnellback, a 31-year-old computer technician from northern Ontario.
Both took home $12,500 packages for the 2008 Main Event including the $10k buy-in plus travel expenses.
Both were also quite pleased with their wins. Said Schnellback:
"This freeroll grand prize is bigger than anything I have ever dreamed of winning in poker," he said. "I only played nickels before this. I haven't been able to stop thinking about [the Main Event] since I won the seat."
"I was honestly quite surprised by how small the field was for this tournament. Only 101 people for a $12.5k prize on a freeroll seemed pretty insane to me. It was great, but just very surprising. I just got lucky fairly early and went into the final table as chip leader."
Plenty more exclusive PokerListings WSOP freerolls have been added since our last update, at several rooms, including CD Poker and Pacific Poker.
