Greetings everyone, this is Liz Lieu with my first blog for PokerListings.com.
I've had other blogs before on my personal Web site, www.lizlieu.net, but this is an opportunity to reach out to more fans and come up with new blogs that will only be posted on PokerListings, so check in with me for weekly updates about my life and travels.
I will also be providing poker strategy and hand analysis here and there. And if it doesn't get me in too much trouble, I'll also weigh in on some poker gossip and discuss other rumors that might be going around.
Just to give you a quick update, I recently played the Main Event at the Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic, where I made it to Day 3 before busting out, 25 players before the bubble.
I was near the top of the leaderboard for most of Day 1a and I was unable to make any moves on Day 2. I finished the day with a chip stack just a bit below average.
I had high hopes for Day 3 and just went completely card-dead. By the time I could pick up any cards, the blinds had significantly reduced my chip stack and I eventually had to push with J-10 just off the button in hopes of picking up some blinds and ran into Raymond Davis's A-10.

I was lucky enough to hit a jack on the flop but the turn and river brought back-to-back aces and my tournament was finished. Raymond was playing pretty well throughout the day and eventually made it to the final table.
On a more positive note, I will be traveling to Australia for the Aussie Millions in January of 2008. I am still undecided about the EPT Caribbean Poker Adventure event at the Atlantis Resort and Casino in the Bahamas.
The Bahamas event is a week before the Aussie event but the Hotel Atlantis is already booked up so I'm still trying to figure out if I will make it out there or not. I will definitely play in the Aussie Millions event. I've travelled all over the world but I've never visited Australia before and it should be a new and exciting adventure for me.
I recently played some poker with Joe Hachem, one of the nicest guys in all of poker, at the APPT Championships in Macau. We both made final tables in the main event in Macau this month and I'm looking forward to catching up with Joe on his home turf and repeating the trip back to the finals. I hope.
I just want to add that I am really excited about blogging for PokerListings.com. I actually go to PL for tournament updates. Yes! Professional poker players check the chip counts and live updates too!!
I've been playing cash games for more than a decade now and I've been fortunate enough to make a good living playing poker and I'm excited to share that experience with you!! You can always find me at www.lizlieu.net or at my sponsored poker site, www.chilipoker.com, but please continue to check back in for new updates at PokerListings and I'm sure we'll have some fun along the way!
Have a wonderful Merry Christmas everyone! Until next week. Cheers.
