Whew! 2007 was a pretty interesting year for me, and I am looking forward to getting a fresh start in 2008. Looking back, 2007 was equally as rewarding for me as it was tough.

It was a pretty roller-coaster year and I want to share some of my personal thoughts on 2007 and what I expect from 2008.

There were many changes in my life in 2007. In the fall, I agreed to endorse ChiliPoker. It's been a great start to a terrific relationship, and I've really enjoyed being part of a fast-growing site in its early stages.

You can find me playing on ChiliPoker whenever I have some downtime somewhere around the world!

I moved to London in the fall as well, which has been both exciting and crazy for me. It was a business decision I felt I had to make with so much poker growth happening throughout Europe and Asia.

I was invited to play in a number of televised events in the U.K., and I look forward to playing a heavy European Poker Tour (EPT) schedule.

I plan to play in the EPT Irish Open and Monte Carlo in Monaco in the upcoming months and I'm really excited about traveling around Europe. And especially to Paris, France! I will be visiting Paris in mid February, and I can't wait!! :-)

My move to London hasn't been easy for me though. I really had a lot of business to do in the U.K., but I find myself on the road continually. I still have my condo in Las Vegas, yet I do want to make London my home.

I haven't been there enough to really meet new friends or see the beauty of London. It is one of my goals this year.

In many ways, 2007 was very productive as I played less poker than I have in a long time while spending much more energy focused on other business and investments. I've always been a poker player and playing less poker was really tough for me.

Finding the right balance will be very important for me this year, and my Team Liz (my agent and business advisers) has been a great support for me.

One of the worst possible things happened this past summer. As some of you may already know, my father passed away in August. I found out the news while playing in the EPT Barcelona Main Event and I had to leave my chips and immediately fly to Vietnam.

My dad is one of the greatest people I know and my personal hero. For the past couple of months I've made frequent trips back to Vietnam and I'm still trying to get through this loss. This is precisely why 2007 has been a very up-and-down year for me personally.

On a brighter note, I really look forward to 2008! Like so many other people, I hope to get to a fresh start. I had a great end of 2007, making back-to-back final tables in Macao, China on the APPT as well as playing strong but bubbling at the Five Diamond event at the Bellagio.

Strong results make me even more excited about the big tournaments already lined up. I will be flying out to Melbourne to play in the Aussie Millions, which starts in about a week; then I head off to Paris, France, both to visit the beautiful city and also to compete in the Paris Open of Poker at The Aviation Club.

Lieu's plan for 2008: Smell the roses more. Negreanu's: Quit staring so much.

I return to Los Angeles to play in the L.A. Poker Classic in late February. In March I will be traveling back to Europe and plan on staying for a couple months to play in some of the EPT events.

Besides playing more and better poker, I want to make a New Year's resolution for 2008! This is to enjoy the moment and live life better!

I've become much more spiritual in the past year, and this is something I want to continue. I also probably overworked myself last year and want to slow down and smell the roses more in 2008.

Instead of putting my head down and working for 16 hours a day, I just want to enjoy my family more, enjoy my friends more and just appreciate how lucky I am to be in the situation I am.

I really enjoy my charity work and this is something I plan to do even more of in 2008.

I just want to enjoy everything I am doing, whether it's playing poker, responding to fans on www.lizlieu.net, participating in charity work, going out on the town with friends or spending time with my family.

I want to be less distracted with all of the work I've been trying to do and just enjoy the moment more!! So, that is my New Year's resolution!!

I hope everyone had a good 2007 and are off to an even better 2008! I hope everyone understands the last couple of months have been pretty difficult for me personally. I feel much better now and look forward to chatting with my fans and spending more time with friends!

Let's all have a fantastic 2008 and I hope everyone comes up with a good New Year's resolution they can stick to for the entire year!!

Cheers! Until next week.
