Dear Bad Beat Counselor: $1.4m durrrrain Wreck

Published by: Daniel Skolovy

Posted In: The Poker Reporter Blog, The Online Grind

Durr An emergency session of the BBC after an especially sick Saturday night at the $500/$1,000 tables, with one Tom "durrrr" Dwan finally getting repaid for those $500k pots he's won with 7-3s.

Both the RailHeaven and GusHeaven tables at Full Tilt were in record-breaking swing this weekend, with full tables and long waiting lists - which in itself is sick enough. But that's not what this post is about.

No, what we're here for is a little rubbernecking of the train wreck durrrr was a part of.

The record for the biggest pot ever online was broken a few times on Saturday, with Dwan the massive loser in two of those pots - the first time to John Juanda for $678,069, and the second to Di "Urindanger" Dang for $723,938.

And as if losing two of the biggest pots ever played online isn't enough, let's just remember that it happened in the same night, only a few hours apart, and both hands were sick coolers.

In the first, durrrr gets in good with the Ah Ac vs. Juanda's Kc Ks only to have Juanda hit one of the two remaining kings on the river for the then-biggest $678,069 pot. Watch the action in the PL.com Hand Replayer here.

The second, happening just a few hours later, sees the exact opposite - durrrr with the Kc Kd versus Dang's Ac Ad. Only this time the aces hold for the even-bigger $723,938 pot. Watch that pot here.

For those keeping score at home, that's $1.4 million in pots lost on both of ends of a pre-flop AA vs. KK cooler.

Disgusting - not only because they are two of the biggest pots of all time in one night but because in both situations, he's fist-pump getting it all-in every single time.

It really doesn't matter that in the first he's a favorite and the second he's not. It's just as unlucky to get dealt KK and be up against AA as it is for the KK to hit one of his two outs.

Juanda: Loves the $700k two-outer.

For most people it would take just one of those situations to ruin their night. Or their poker lives.

Yet, durrrr is seemingly unfazed by it. He must have ice running through his veins because not only did he not tilt, he buckled down and grinded his way back to even for the session. Even!

Let that be a lesson to you - if durrrr doesn't tilt after losing $1.4 million in two KK vs. AA coolers, what excuse do you have to monkey tilt after some fish hits his gutter in a 20BB pot for $122.75?

As always ship your bad beats to badbeats@pokerlistings.com. And rail the action at FTP here.
