Roberto Luongo is one of the winningest goalies in NHL history and owns a gold medal for his performance in the 2010 Winter Olympics.
The Montreal-native is a rookie, however, at the World Series of Poker.
Indeed Luongo made his debut appearance in the premier poker series by taking a seat in Day 1a of the 2012 WSOP Main Event.
Just like the NHL, it didn't take Luongo long to adapt to the game in the big leagues as he doubled his starting stack to 60,000 chips by the time the dinner break rolled around.
We personally witnessed Bobby Lu win a massive pot with pocket aces against an opponent who flopped a pair of kings with ace-king (we refrained from shouting “LUUUUU” on the rail).
