I think the average is about 50k, and the blinds will be 500/1k when we start day 2 tomorrow. I felt like I played very well yesterday with two questionable plays, neither of which worked out, that each cost me about 12k in chips.
I didn't play too many big pots, and was only in a preflop all in one time and it was AQ vs AQ for a guy who had like 16k. Anyways, I feel great and am really looking forward to day 2.
My roommate, Allen Bari, survived the day as well with slightly under starting stack at 27k. I haven't decided if I'm going to play the high rollers event if I bust day 2 (it starts on day 3 of the main). I am hoping I won't have to even think about it and will be playing the main event still.
Being in Monte Carlo again brings back memories from last year, because I came here right after the win in San Remo, and was still on a high from that. I almost forgot how ridiculously expensive this place is. I really need some duct tape for the minibar.
How can anyone just accept paying 7 euros for a bottle of water which is like 16 ounces. Then again the room we are in is normally like 700 euros a night.
Either way it's absolutely insane. I can't wait to get home, the few weeks I have before leaving for vegas will be amazing. Going to just chill with my girlfriend and family; it's going to be great.
Hopefully day 2 goes really well and then I'll be looking forward to day 3, day 4, then the FINAL TABLE. Got to stay positive. GOGOGOGOGOGO!
