José Girah, the so-called Portuguese poker prodigy, contacted Tom Dwan via Twitter a few days ago, inquiring as to whether Dwan would be taking on a third durrrr Challenge.
Dwan responded in the affirmative, telling Girah to post $500k to get things started.
This, at a time when Dwan is already up to his neck in the first two durrrr Challenges. Listen durrrr. You're not America. These aren't wars we're talking about.
First, a little background. When Patrik Antonius and Dwan undertook the first durrrr Challenge it was big news. People were excited. Sadly, that excitement was somewhat short-lived.
The challenge stagnated with long stretches of inactivity. People became less excited. Dwan and Antonius have played 39,436 of the 50,000 total. Dwan is up over $2 million.
Then Dwan accepted a second challenge, this time with Dan "Jungleman12" Cates. People became excited again. That battle got off to a good start but, as we saw in the Challenge's first iteration, they were unable to maintain the pace.
It's now almost seven months into the second Challenge and they're only 17,456 hands in. Cates is now leading by more than $1.2 million.
So, all of this begs the question: Really durrrr? Really? A third Challenge?
To put it in terms we can all relate to, if you've got two dinners in front of you and you're having a tough time finishing them, do you order a third dinner?
We'll keep you updated on whether this third challenge is a go or not. Tell us what you think in the comments below.
