In my last post, I talked about how I was on to round 2 of the NBC Heads-Up Championship after I defeated Daniel Negreanu.

I faced Pieter De Korver in my next match and ended up beating him as well. I had the chiplead for almost the whole match and was winning probably 70-75% of hands, but when the blinds went from 600/1200 to 1k/2 we got it in for his 11 bb stack, him holding A10 vs my A9... 9 on the river, no big deal!

If I had lost this pot, we would have been back to even in chips with 20 bbs each.

In my next match, I faced Phil Laak. This match started out completely opposite to the match with Pieter. Laak crushed me in the beginning stages of the match beating me on almost every hand.

When the blinds got high I finally started just shipping it in pre. I shoved for around 65k at 1500/3k with AT and he snapped with KJ. I held, and now had him crushed 130k to 30k. We eventually got that in, my 55 vs his K2.

The flop came A K 8, turn 8, and the river was a 5. The crowd that was there to watch erupted. It was definitely an exciting moment.

After beating Phil Laak, I was on to the final 8 and had to face Scotty Nguyen the following day. I was told that I had to be in the poker room at 10:30 am (too early!). The match against Scotty went terribly, he beat me out of a lot of pots, just outflopping me most hands and got extremely lucky when he played a hand terribly.

It was a miserable match and I made a pretty bad shove with 57cc and ran into his JJ. I even flopped a flush draw, but it wasn't to meant to be ... brick brick. After losing this match I decided to take my flight that day to San Jose. I was supposed to play Bay 101 on Day 1A since I was a bountied "Shooting Star".

I flew out there and got some rest and tried to get ready for the tournament the next morning ... morning? Yep! Another 10:30 am start time ... UGH!!!

The Bay 101 main event didn't go very well either. I stayed around starting stack for about 3 or 4 hours before finally going through some swings. I went from 20k to 9k to 16k to 8k to 26k to BUSTO.

On the last hand I played, I got AK all in pre at 150/300 vs JJ for a 180 bb pot. The Flop was A 10 2, turn K, river Q oijafeoiajfoawifjaoifjeoboidfnaoig! < that's me smashing the keyboard

I flew home that night. I had planned on going back to Vegas from San Jose but decided to come home because I wanted to see my girlfriend (we are back 2gether). Unfortunately she is going to be busy this weekend with some work stuff, so I will be going to Vegas anyways to play the last two events at the Wynn Classic.

After Vegas I'll probably come home then go to Indiana for WPT, then come home, then go to London for some Pokerstars commercial stuff, then come home, then NAPT Mohegan Sun, then San Remo, then Monte Carlo, then home, then Vegas for WSOP.

It's going to be a hectic couple months.
