Coming off the win in FTOPS event 23 the night before, I entered day 2 of the 2500 ftops event with around 32,000 in chips and average stack was around 54k. I was 56 of 87, but feeling good and looking to double up early.
That's exactly what happened too. On the second hand of day 2, I was dealt KK on the cutoff and the button had AK. We got it in preflop and I picked up about 23k (button's stack).
I then went on a ridiculous heater, winning pot after pot and running over my table. I won 2 big coin flips and before I knew it, I had a top 5 stack with 50 left.
Coming back from a break, I stacked a guy with aces vs kings (guy had about 50 blinds) on the first hand back. Then the next hand stacked a guy with 30 bbs with KK vs 88. Run better?
After those 2 hands, I had a pretty substantial chiplead. I had this lead until we got down to 2 tables left. I had around 560k, 2nd in chips had around 370k. Then the spewing began!
I lost about 30% of my stack making a horrific play, upon which I prefer not to elaborate. After the hand, I think I should have probably changed gears. Instead I decided to try to get those chips back by continuing to keep the pressure on.
A few orbits later, I lost a flip, then got it in stone dead and was looking at a 4.5 blind stack. I jammed it in with A5, got 2 callers before KK shoved over giving me the chance to quadruple up. I binked the A on the turn and thought okay this is it. I'm going to make a comeback and take this tourney down.
Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be, and I lost another flip to bust in 13th place for a whopping 14k. I was so disgusted with myself while looking at the prize pool, 1st place being almost a half million, and top 5 all getting over 100k.
This was around 6 pm that I busted, and the only other tourney I was in was the FTOPS main event which had started just 90 minutes ago. I didn't want to just one table this tourney, so I jumped into all the big online MTTs that started between 6 and 9:30.
I bricked everything and then was even more frustrated. Although one day earlier, I had my biggest score ever online, I was now really upset and just in a daze as to the roller coaster of emotions that I had just experienced in the last 24 hours.
I decided to take some time off to try and mentally recover, knowing the Series is coming up, wanted to get my mind completely ready for it. I ended up only playing the Super Tuesday in the next 4 days. No good there.
I hung out with a few of my friends and had a good time. I definitely wanted to chill with them before I left for the Series.
I'm really anticipating playing the 40k, which I decided I'm going to play. I haven't figured out how yet, but I WILL be in that tournament somehow. Well there's a small chance I won't play, but hopefully I'll be in there.
I may have to sell action, so if you are interested hit me up on facebook. I can't wait to see what the field looks like. It should be very interesting to see the mix of online kids, live pros, and maybe some rich businessmen.
I'm hoping for a big series! I made a couple sidebets on performances to keep me motivated to play a lot of events. I want to make a sidebet on myself winning a bracelet, but it's tough to get good odds, because everyone knows I'm so nasty!!! Lol jk! If anyone would like to offer a bet against me, you can also hit me up on facebook.
