Filippo Candio: 2010 WSOP November Nine
Created By: PokerListings.com Posted in: WSOP Blog, Tournament TrailFilippo Candio is Europe's last, best and only chance to win a championship in the 2010 WSOP Main Event. He's got 16,400,000 in ammo with which to go to battle.
The aggressive Italian is the son of a well-known lawyer in Cagliari and last year won the main event of an Italian Poker Tour event in San Remo.
A poker pro for the last two years, Candio has been a force on the Italian poker circuit where he has over $200,000 in earnings.
He became close friends with Max Pescatori when he knocked the Italian Pirate out of the IPT event he went on to win.
Perhaps Candio's biggest hand of the Main Event came on Day 8 when he won a 25 million chip pot where he hit a backdoor straight against Joseph Cheong's pocket aces.
