The last day of play in the dungeon of the Warsaw Hyatt Regency was also the longest, as the nine finalists battled it out on the felt for nine hours before Barbosa finally broke free.
With about a half-hour left in his 26th birthday, Barbosa defeated Nico Behling in heads-up play to clinch the title and the 1,358,420 PLN (€367,141) first prize.
That the birthday boy was even still around for heads-up play was something of a surprise, given that he'd come into the final table seventh in chips, his presence overshadowed by that of Team an exclusive interview with PokerListings.com's own Rod Stirzaker.
Meanwhile, Behling earns 759,500 PLN and absolutely no swag for his second-place finish. Congratulations to both finalists and we'll see you in Prague!
