We just got word of a new prop bet between Mike Matusow and Ted Forrest. It's a weight loss bet with a potentially $2 million payoff!
About nine hours ago Phil Hellmuth tweeted the following 140 characters.
Ted Forrest (188 pounds) wins $2million from Mike "The mouth" if he weighs 139 pds July 15, or $1M by Sept 24-if not Ted pays Mikey $150,000.
The bet has since been confirmed by Justin "BoostedJ" Smith who, as it turns out, has a substantial piece of the action on Mike's side of the bet.
This is an interesting bet. Forrest is getting massive odds, especially considering the amount of money on the line, but getting down to 139 for him will be no easy task.
Our initial feeling is that Ted Forrest is a sicko, psycho gambler and he'll pretty much do whatever it takes to win a bet like this, short of chopping off one of his arms ... maybe.
Based on that alone we're putting our money on Forrest. But, the problem is that we don't really know much about the science of someone like Ted Forrest cutting that much weight.
According to Smith, Ted's 189 right now and "very muscular". If memory serves Ted is not a tall man. He's gotta be around 5'10" or so. All of these stats lead us to believe it is indeed possible, just potentially very dangerous.
So, any health/fitness experts out there that can chime in with some expert opinion? Is this a lost cause for Forrest, meaning he'll probably buy out, or are Forrest's super-degen powers enough to get him down to 139?
