Binion's Horseshoe Gambling Hall and Hotel, the original home of the World Series of Poker (WSOP), will be hosting the American Poker Player Championship series from May 10-24, 2006, in conjunction with Omni Media & Entertainment.

The 29-event series will boast buy-ins starting at $330, while satellite buy-ins will start at $100. The biggest buy-in of the series will be the $5,300 No-Limit Main Event championship, which will be held on May 22. All the tournaments will be capped at 800 players.

WSOP Champion Tom McEvoy and two time Ladies WSOP Champion Susie Isaacs will be the tournament hosts.

Cary Davis, president of Omni Media said, "The American Poker Player Championship is a response to the tremendous popularity of poker in America today."

"We are proud to provide this new venue and anticipate great success because it will be a multi-event tournament, with cash prizes in each event, and the main event will be an affordable $5,000 buy-in championship," he continued.
