Binion's Gambling Hall & Hotel and Omni Media & Entertainment yesterday announced they have added a Ladies No-Limit Hold'em event and a Gambler's Golf Tournament to their American poker classic, the American Poker Player Championship.
The Gambler's Golf Tournament will be held May 17 at the Las Vegas National Golf Club, while the Ladies Event will take place at Binion's May 20-21 for a buy-in of $300 + $30.
Cary Davis, president of Omni Media, said, "The response to Binion's American Poker Player Championship is exceeding our expectations, and we are especially pleased to have so many talented poker players entering the field of competition.
"The American Poker Player Championship is going to be a highly competitive event where amateur, professional, and former World Series of Poker (WSOP) champion poker players will match their skills in the hopes of winning the first American Poker Player Championship."
Mr. Davis continueed, "We're also bringing back the Ladies No-Limit Hold'em Event which was a memorable highlight of the WSOP, and two-time Ladies World Series of Poker Champion Susie Isaacs and World Series of Poker Champion Tom McEvoy will be the Ladies Hold'em Tournament hosts.
"Additionally, because we want to maintain the strong tradition and hospitality at Binion's that helped make the WSOP famous, we are inviting the American Poker Player Championship poker players and their guests to a Gambler's Golf Tournament at Las Vegas National Golf Club."
Binion's will provide bus service for entrants to the golf club. Entry fee for the 18 hole event will be $300 (limited to 144 entrants), and will include breakfast, a golf cart, green fees, complimentary beverages during play, and an award ceremonies luncheon after the tournament where a possible prize pool of $25,000 will be divided between the top finishers.
