Big Easy next stop for Small Town Poker Tour

By Christopher Hunt

Event #2 of the Small Town Poker Tour's (STPT) Pro Am Series starts this Friday, and the lucky recipient of three days of charity poker this time is New Orleans.

The world's largest amateur poker tour, the STPT's mission is two-fold: raising money for charity, and finding the world's best amateur poker players.

Event #2 in this year's pursuit sees the tour move to the Big Easy - and specifically the John A. Alario, Sr. Events Center - for three days of charity poker to benefit the Krewe of Choctaw, a social organization involved in New Orleans' infamous Mardi Gras celebrations since 1935.

Open to all players who want to show their support for charity, the warm up events are scheduled to start Friday, March 23, with the main event taking place on Saturday.

"I am very glad we were able to bring this event to the New Orleans area," said Mark Fracalossi, STPT Creator, "and help out a piece of Mardi Gras history."

The event winner moves on to the STPT Pro Am Series Championship this summer in Las Vegas.
