Betfair ups the stakes in weekly tournament

Betfair Poker's biggest guaranteed tournament just got bigger.

The online poker room recently announced they will be upping the stakes from the old $100,000 guarantee to $125,000 starting May 18.

The $125,000 guaranteed tournament will run on alternating weekends so on May 18 and June 1 players will have a chance to play in the $125,000 GTD and the $35,900 WSOP Vegas Qualifier while on May 11 and May 25 players will have a shot at the $90,000 GTD WSOP Europe/Vegas Qualifier and $55,000 GTD.

Players can buy-in directly to the $125,000 GTD for $525+$25 or they can qualify in a number of different in tournaments that run Monday - Sunday. Buy-in for the $55,000 GTD is set at $380+$20.

Betfair Poker is owned and operated by the world's largest sports exchange and as an independent poker site is not part of any poker network. Betfair is also home to two of the best online players in the world with WSOPE Main Event winner Annette Obrestad and Sorel "Imper1um" Mizzi.
