Betfair Poker giving away sponsorship deal in December

The Twelve Plays of Christmas campaign this month at Betfair Poker will lead to one lucky tournament player being offered a $20,000 sponsorship deal. All that player has to do is become the best tournament player in December.

"We are thinking of calling the winner 'Poker God' because only the best and most consistent performer will win," said Ben Fried, head of poker at Betfair Poker. "One-off lucky winners will not get a look in."

The players who will have a chance will be the ones performing best in the daily $15,000 and $10,000 guaranteed tournaments. Other events that qualify include team games, bounty tournaments and the "Snowball."

The Snowball is a $50,000 plus freeroll tournament that begins with a $5,000 event today and grows each day until Jan. 7 when players who have qualified will compete for a $50,000 prize pool.

The player with the best tournament record when all is said and done will become a member of the Betfair Poker team of pro players. That team consists of Ben Grundy, Bengt Sonnert and Thomas Bihl.

The $20,000 sponsorship deal includes representing the site and being eligible for live events up to the value of $20,000.

During December, Betfair Poker players will have a chance at $240,000 worth of prizes that can be won through holiday tournaments during the month.
