Betfair, PokerListings.com give away WSOPE seats
The last weekend before the WSOPE begins Betfair is giving players one last chance to qualify.
It all goes down on Sunday, Sept. 2, with two huge events scheduled and an incredible 15 seats at the European tournament up for grabs.
First up is the Betfair $250K freeroll Grand Final, which begins at 2 p.m. The promotion has been running for over a month now and all the players who qualified for the Grand Final will be competing for a staggering 10 available WSOPE packages. Betfair will also be throwing in a further $20,000 worth of cash for those who don't quite make it. That means the prize pool is up to an astounding $250,000. Not bad for a freeroll.
Those who didn't qualify for the $250K freeroll are not completely out of luck either.
At 6:30 p.m. the same day Betfair will be hosting the Last Chance Showdown with a guaranteed five seats on the line.
The tournament will mark the finale of Betfair's qualification period and be available to anybody who wants to play (provided they pay the $500+$25 buy-in). Qualifiers for the event were available all week for as little as $5.25.
As an added bonus there will be five $1,000 bounties on selected Betfair pros and celebrities. This takes the prize pool to an impressive $120,000.
Betfair has been extremely generous by making a large number of seats available for the fantastic series and just last week The_Pig won a $26,000 qualifying package in a PokerListings.com/Betfair freeroll.
106 players qualified for the event but no one could beat The_Pig.
The_Pig, a 46-year-old printer from Bilsthorpe, England, was delighted to win the package because he's never had a large bankroll. He mentioned he visits Betfair.com almost every day.
"At the moment it's my favorite poker room," he said. "I was always a stern Ultimate Bet user, but since Betfair went independent I play most of my online [games] there."
The_Pig also visits PokerListings.com to check what the best deals in online poker are.
"It's a great Web site," he said. "I will always check out the reviews and bonus offers on PokerListings before I join an online site."
