Benny Spindler Leads after Day 2 at EPT London

159 players will return on Day 3 to fight for a spot in the money.

Day 2 is done at this year’s EPT London main event and Germany’s Benny Spindler is running away with the tournament.

The day began with 417 players, and Spindler in second position, and when play was done for the evening Spindler had stacked 469,800, over 60k more than his nearest competition, American Jamie Rosen.

159 players survived to earn a seat on Day 3, all of whom will be doing their best to get one step closer to the £750,000 first-place prize tomorrow. In total £3,351,350 will be doled out to the top 104 finishers.

There’s no shortage of star-power among the remaining players and at the top of that list is poker legend Doyle Brunson.

The godfather of poker is here in London playing his first ever EPT tournament and he’s on track to record his first EPT cash. Brunson finished the day with 202,400.

Also through to Day 3 with more than the average is Canadian Andrew Chen, Roberto Romanello, Andrew Feldman, Scott Shelley, Jose Barbero, Humberto Brenes and James Akenhead.

Among those who fared less well but will return tomorrow with less than average are Jason Mercier, Jeff Sarwer, Brian Hastings, November Niner Eoghan O’Dea, Todd Terry, Joe Ebanks and Freddy Deeb.

Even less fortunate, and now eliminated, were Barry Greenstein, Joe Hachem, Vanessa Rousso, Justin Bonomo, Sam Chartier, Eugene Katchalov, Noah Boeken and Ivan Demidov.
