High stakes tournament poker returns to northwest Europe this fall with the Belgium Open Poker Championship set to run Nov. 21-29.

The €1,500+ €200 buy-in tournament is set to take place at Casino de Namur and organizers are already estimating a prize pool of €1.5 million.

The event will also include six separate No-Limit Hold'em tournaments with buy-ins ranging from €100 for the Ladies Event to €10,000 for the brand new Heads-Up team event.

This is the fifth year the tournament has taken place and last year it attracted 843 players, including notables like Surinder Sunar and Davidi Kitai. Dutch player Sijbrand Maal outlasted them all and earned a first place paycheck of €315,875.

Former winners include Michael Gilson (2005), Marcus Naalden (2006) and Jamel Maistriaux (2007).

The main event will be streamed live on the Internet and filmed for broadcast at a later date. Hold'em and Omaha cash games will also be running throughout the championship.

Players can qualify for the Belgium Open Poker Championship live at Casino de Namur or online at several sites including PokerStars.
