Baseball, poker meet at PlayersOnly Poker

With each sport having a "World Series" to determine a champion every year, it's only natural that poker and baseball should meet at some point. PlayersOnly Poker is making that happen with a tournament to send players on an all-expenses paid trip to the World Series this fall.
Freeroll qualifiers for the tournament begin Saturday at 3:30 p.m. (EDT) for players to win their way into the Fox Baseball World Series Tournament final on Sept. 22.
The top 10 players from the freeroll will advance to the final. If you miss this Saturday, you'll be able to catch the freeroll every Saturday through the summer.
"We've always got tournaments happening. Tournaments are a great way to get poker experience," said David Anderson, PlayersOnly Poker manager. "All you risk is the buy-in fee, so in a freeroll, you risk nothing. Everyone starts with the same stack of chips. And you play until one player has them all."
Once the top 10 players advance from the weekly freeroll tournaments, that won't mean the end for anyone else to take a shot at the World Series prize package. If you were too busy watching the baseball game on Saturday to play in the freeroll, you can still buy in directly to the final for $50+$5.
The winner of the final will receive a deluxe travel package for the World Series that includes two box seats to Game 1, first-class air for two, and hotel suite and limo to and from the stadium.
The runner-up from the tournament will also be heading to the game with two field-level seats, coach air for two, a standard hotel room and limo ride to and from the stadium.
Third place won't get to watch the game in person, but it'll sure look better on a brand new Proton 37" LCD TV at home.
If baseball isn't your thing, there are still plenty of other promotions to get in on at PlayersOnly Poker.
The poker site kicked off the football season early as well with daily tournaments where players can win tickets to an NFL game during its summer NFL Ticket Blitz.
The kickoff of the event started June 16 and it runs through Aug. 5 with a nightly tournament at 10 p.m.
For a buy-in of $5, players have a shot at a $1,000 prize to use to purchase two NFL regular season tickets of their choice and have a little spending money to go along with them.
Perhaps you'd prefer to hold out to win one of the three Super Bowl XLII prize packages valued at $3,000.
The tournament will take place Aug. 12 and requires 10 Gold Chips to enter.
There's also more poker to be had with freerolls on Sunday that will send players to the World Poker Tour event in Turks and Caicos. The satellites take place very Sunday.
