By Sarah Polson

The Bar Poker League, owned by The World Poker Store, is currently in negotiations to launch in The Netherlands in September. Along with the bar league there is the possibility of the launch of a poker television show.

The Bar Poker League already operates in Minnesota and Florida in the United States and is expanding into 23 other states soon.

The league offers a live poker experience to anyone of legal age who wants to play at bars and restaurants in the United States where its legal to host games. Currently more than 100 tournaments run per week.

The Texas Hold'em tournaments with The Bar Poker League are free and new venues are continually being added.

The World Poker Store also partners with local charities and corporate groups to host professional Texas Hold'em charity events. One big event was the Trent Tucker Celebrity Poker Tournament at Canterbury Park in Minnesota.

The tournament brought out NBA greats such as Michael Jordan and Scotty Pippen, as well as poker pros Johnny Chan, Phil Hellmuth, Marcel Luske, Patrik Antonius and Hoyt Corkins to benefit the Trent Tucker Youth Program.
